Welcome to Slaters Hardware - a real Old-Fashioned Hardware Store. Our store hours are Monday - Saturday 9am - 6pm. We are closed on Sundays and Holidays.

The history of Slaters Hardware dates back to 1946 (61 years ago). Henrietta and Bob Slater were the founders of Slaters Incorporated.  Our grandmother Henrietta, along with her two sons Jim and Jon, operated the original Slaters Hardware on South Maple St.  Our grandfather Bob developed our real estate, Jim created the hobbies shop, and Jon created the lock and lamp shops.  We have the reputation of having everything that is to be needed, and if you can't find it anywhere else go to Slaters.  We say just come here first and if we dont have it we will either order it for your or direct you to someone that may.  You might hear stories of Ma Slater knowing where everything was in the store from older customers.  Listening to these stories is always worthwhile.

Our grandparents and parents were amazing workers and wonderful people.  Slaters Incorporated is now run by Lou. Steve, and Jackie.  All are Slaters, some just have different last names.  Jon Slater Jr. was the manager of the hardware department for years, but had to step down due to his responsibilites of being Fairfield County Treasurer, although you may still see him in on a volunteer basis from time to time.
