What is a Transponder Key?
(Transmitter-Responder = Transponder) A Transponder Key is a radio transmitter / receiver device that is programmed into your cars computer before it leaves the factory. If the vehicle's computer does not receive the correct key identification response when the key is turned to the on position, it will not start. No fuel, no spark, no starter. Your key turns on your electronics inside the computer so you can go where you need to. If you so happen to put in a blank that is not programmed but will still turn your ignition over you will more then likely be stranded for 30 minutes at the least. The computer has to reset and start over. Good thing is your vehicle cannot be hot wired. Although we do a lot of Transponder Keys there are some we cannot do, but coming soon. The new Honda's, Toyota's, Lexus, BMW, VW, etc...we do not have the right machine to cut these keys. We should have this machine by January 2009. Example of a key we cannot do: Ford, Chrylser, Honda, etc... Transponder Keys Cut and Programmed
